Maintenance is selected at the 33rd
Annual Telluride
Film Festival as a part of the ''Filmmakers of
Tomorrow" panel of shorts. Out of 400 student
films submitted, only 6 films are shown, or the top
1.5%. In total, the highly selective festival consists
of only approximately 30 films per year, the majority
of which are nominated for Academy Awards. Last year
Telluride premiered feature films Brokeback
Mountain, Capote, Cache and
Walk the Line, among others.This year the festival
premieres Babel, The Lives of
Others, and The Last
King of Scotland.

Phillip
Van is awarded the 1st
place Eastman Scholarship in a ceremony held at the
Kodak / UFVA conference in Orange, California on August
2nd. The $12,000 award is for his excellence in filmmaking
as a director and cinematographer, with particular regard
to his short film High
Maintenance. A Blue Panel Jury consisting of auspicious
industry professionals chose Phillip from 9
finalists from leading graduate film programs around
the country nominated by their faculty.
